Report from the exhibition by Susanna Lau
Prim and proper buttoned-up shirts and pastels are hanging on from last spring/summer, judging by what’s at the Exhibition.
Negarin Sadr is a trained sculptor who started her label Negarin with the idea of using print to flatter a woman’s body. Her S/S 13 collection makes use of a pretty tile print rendered in pale blue and coral pink for a subtle effect that especially works in this pencil skirt and shirt combo. Negarin has also applied this effective tile pattern to suede iPad cases, roomy leather totes and matching printed chunky-heeled pumps, just to eliminate any danger of forgetting it.
I paired these sweet pastel tones with a mint-green jumper by new label Blake London. It is focusing on made-in-Britain luxury knitwear, and this piece, named the Galloway Sweater, is definitely my favourite from this collection of summer knits.
Negarin Sadr and Blake London are both at the Exhibition,
