As LFW draws to a close, top buyers highlights share their highlights…

April Glassborow, Head of Buying Womenswear, Harvey Nichols: “I love how designers are juxtaposing and mixing different fabrics. Erdem has matured in the past two seasons into a fully-fledged international designer brand. His layered lace and patent, bonded dresses were so elegant. I loved Christopher Kane’s colour palette – the inky blues and blood reds; the collection was dark and quite sinister.”

Stephanie Jones, Womenswear Buyer, Liberty: “We love prints at Liberty, and London’s designers don’t disappoint. Peter Pilotto’s printed puffa jackets and fishtail-hem dresses are top of my
wish list; Jonathan Saunders’ taffeta separates, sexy v-neck flared dresses and colour mix were fabulous, too. And we continue to love Michael van der Ham’s collage-style fabric mixes – he’s really evolved into a great designer now.”

Silvia Bertocci, Womenswear Buyer, 10 Corso Como: “London has such design talent. I loved Christopher Kane’s mesh florals and moiré dresses. We liked the conceptual pieces from JW Anderson – the duvet skirts and gilets; and Thomas Tait’s curved hems and simple shapes looked clean and minimal.”

Ken Downing, Senior Vice President and Fashion Director, Neiman Marcus: “Burberry Prorsum was a stellar show again. Bailey has done something we also saw in New York, this idea of taking menswear fabrics and reinventing them with a feminine and romantic spirit. We loved the military commentary with the olive and fatigue-green colours and mixed fabrics. So clever.”
