DAKS opened day two of London Fashion Week, this morning. Luke Hersheson for L’Oréal Professionnel created the hair and shares with us the secrets behind the look.
“Inspiration was very much about a mood. Alexandre de Paris who was a famous French hairdresser, nicknamed the “Prince de la Coiffure” was a great source of inspiration for beautiful hairdressing. This look is a play on classic, old fashioned hairdressing but keeping it fresh and new with accessories and texture.
This look has really been ‘thrown up’ and has been made modern by being created on clean fresh hair. No backcombing and only one key product used, which was L’Oréal Professionnel tecni art air fix. The hair is taken, twisted and then pinned at the nape of the neck and upwards. Its often hard for young girls to wear their hair up without it looking too dressed, but this is a great way to keep a ‘hair up’ fresh and effortless.”
And how to create the look yourself?
The look was taken with a side parting which is tucked just behind the ear, soft and with a few fly-a-ways as the back… Nothing to strict. To adorn the hair Luke used between 2/3 hair clips on each head. Rectangular in shape and in either a glossy black perspex on the traditional DAKS check. Finally finished and secured with a light spray of L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium.
