One and a half parts turquoise, one part orange, a dash of pink and top up with emerald. Shake with cracked ice and there you have it, the perfect colour cocktail.

The jewelled tones appearing on the catwalk are offering bright and bold combinations for SS11. “I relish in colour and I’m not shy of brights at all, it’s optimistic and it’s summer,” Says Holly Fulton, who even provided us with a Martini glass on her patent shift design during her show yesterday. “Colour means strong clothes; you will walk in a room and be noticed.”

Fulton’s liquors included Bombay Sapphire and Orange Curacao, the perfect mix for a Sapphire Citrus. Michael van der Ham used French Martini tones of deep pinks and emeralds, while Matthew Williamson made it a heavy one with an Absinthe number. Meanwhile, Jasper Conran was presenting the perfect summer tipple, a Tequila sunrise, while Roksanda presented us with a dazzling sea breeze.

Looks like we should get into the queue at the bar, any excuse!
